Civil War Commemoration Interviews

These are the audio recordings of my interviews with Allison Wells, a Graduate student at the University of Iowa, and undergraduates who wished to stay anonymous.  To help with the diversity in interviews, we wanted to find people who knew about the Civil War and those who didn’t.  The undergraduates’ majors are English/Creative Writing, Psychology with a Pre-Med track, and Linguistics.

  1. I think this format for your interviews was a great idea. It was really interesting to listen to both the one on one interview with Allison Wells and the group interview with your roommates. The answers were interesting from all parties. I like that as a whole we were able to hear a variety of different opinions and views. The interview with Allison Wells was interesting because she is obviously someone who knows a lot about history and the Civil War, so her take on things was interesting to hear. I also think it was really clever to have a group conversation with your roommates. It seemed really laid back and was fun to listen to.
